The Story
After growing up in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Jamie began what is now a 40-year career in the creative products industries. For sixteen years, he was a key sales and marketing executive with LEGO, working in the US and Canadian markets. Driven by their work ethic, team culture, and consumer-focus, the LEGO brand became firmly entrenched as a consistent growth driver for retailers and favorite with consumers. This experience became the foundation of his business career and philosophy. He then continued the trend of working with high-quality, privately held toy brands by serving as President of Playmobil USA expanding distribution into national accounts while continuing to serve the unique needs of specialty retailers.
In 2003, Jamie assumed the role of President and CEO of Faber-Castell USA, the US subsidiary of the 260-year-old German parent company Faber-Castell. During his tenure, the team expanded distribution to include ecommerce partnerships and integrate omni-channel strategies driven by consumer path to purchase insights. Most recently, he played a pivotal role in the creation of the “Enriching Lives Through Creativity and Self-Expression” (The company’s Why), while also serving on the global company’s Leadership Essentials development team. These, while leading the US company to record growth and highest level of performance in 2022.
In his current efforts to promote the importance of creativity, Jamie makes regular stops at college campuses, corporations, business conferences, and trade associations as a guest lecturer on various topics, including “The Importance of Creativity in Business and in Life.” Among the favorite campus stops are Notre Dame, USC, Georgetown, Michigan State, Butler, Harvard, Emmanuel, and Duquesne.
In 2023, after forty years in the creative products business with significant brands like LEGO, Readers Digest, Playmobil and Faber-Castell, Jamie decided it was time to do something new, different yet remaining consistent with a mission to enrich performance and lives.
